Before you get to lvl 40, presuming you will play the DLC, you'll have more skill points than you know what to do with, so don't bother worrying about the few points extra you'd get in barter/speech, from Charisma.

Better off to use those valuable stat points elsewhere. It's only real benefit, is if you want your companions to do all your fighting for you- then Charisma is the stat for you. Charisma don't do squat for you in the game. the problem with dreaming that the Charisma stat in NV will somehow do this for you. every gunslinger wants to be the dashing movie-star type who gets all the chicks and looks good doing it, right? Um, well. I understand the Hollywood desire to be 'charismatic'. And you will need that kind of ammo often. And definitely get Hand Loader, as there is no armor-piercing ammo available for revolvers, without that perk. Guns, Sneak, Lockpick and 45 pts only in Melee Weaps for Cowboy perk. It will give you +50% more critical hit damage, which is huge. On the critical hit front, be sure to get 6 points into Perception, for the Better Criticals perk. Not enough so that I must take speech/barter, but enough so that I don't want to bring it too low.Īnd I think I would put the luck, because I will rely heavily on critical hits (which is partly why I want Lucky). The thing is, a gunslinger (to me at least) is at least moderately charismatic. So do you think that guns, lockpick and melee weapons would be good choices?Īs for perks, I am pretty sure that I will take Finesse, Rapid Reload (revolvers can take a long time to reload), maybe Run and Gun, and Cowboy (as I previously mentioned). Barter, sneak and survival all sound useful, but don't really bare anything that is much desirable (though The Professional might come in handy). I would like to use Lucky, but that would require lockpick.

I want to have the Cowboy perk, which would require melee weapons. I will have guns obviously, but the other two skills is confusing. This is not a standard cowboy build, because he will use almost exclusively revolvers (though I might occasionally make an exception if it is impractical). I am tossing the idea in my head of making a gunslinger build.
