Steel Faith changes the balance in the game so the battles are longer and more balanced. Many players have had issues with how the battles and units compare to the tabletop, as well as the length of battles. Against lower tier armies I can really just sweep them from the field with lances, but there are definitely still challenges, and it just generally feels better.Īctually though, it's just an overhaul of the game. Now, Grail Guardians are 6 man elite units that tear through low level infantry like tissue paper, knights of the realm feel elite and it's just generally a lot of fun. One of my biggest frustration with Bretonnia in Vanilla was that their cavalry just didn't feel powerful, with the sole exception of Grail Knights/Guardians. Played most of a campaign through with Bretonnia, and compared to my vanilla campaign I'm really happy. I think the AI gets a bit better about recruiting armies Magic, particularly direct damage magic is stronger (There's also an increased maximum power store of 50 instead of 30), making it viable compared to buffs/debuffs.ĭ. Monsters, Heroes and Elite units are tougher and feel more unique and powerful.ī. I use all of these mods in my campaigns and they all work together very well for the ultimate warhammer experience, at least in my opinion.Generally speaking, the broad changes are:Ī. There is a compatibility mod for SFO if you want to use both. Mixu's mods add new Legendary Lords to the game with unique skill trees and models. The name of the mod is "The Old World"įinally, there are Mixu's mods.

If you'e interested in only playing in the old world (& southlands) there is a mod which removes factions from Lustria, Naggaroth and Ulthuan for faster turn times.

It's a big mod but worth it.īetter Camera Mod gives you a bit of flexibility to look at the battle and take it in in more detail. GCCM (Grand Campaign Custom Maps) is a completely necessary mod in my opinion as it changes the maps for major settlement locations f.e Marienburg actually looks like how Marienburg does on the map one would find in WHFRP books. SFO (Steel Faith Overhaul) which overhauls literally EVERYTHING in the campaign and makes battles feel more lengthy and realistic. I would recommend trying a campaign of vanilla, but there are a few mods I like to use:
